Crisis Care for Children of Emergency Workers COVID19

Childcare will be offered at the LCWM Elementary School from 7:30 AM -3:30 PM.

We will be providing this care free of charge for families of Emergency Care Workers as defined by the Governor. At this time we are required to provide for Tier 1 personnel and may take others on a case by case basis at the discretion of the crisis team. Workers will be required to provide proof of employment such as a badge or a letter from their employer.

We want to stress that this is not typical childcare or Fit Kids. This care will be provided to families that qualify if this is the ONLY option available for the families. If a parent/guardian is off for the day, another parent/guardian is working from home, or there are older siblings in the household, we are requiring that they keep children home with them.

As Distance Learning begins we will provide opportunities for children to spend time engaged with their assigned work. It will still be the parents’ responsibility to check in and monitor that work. Staff will be there just as supervision. This may change as we get into a routine.
